The B.C. Wildlife Branch reports that cases of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) have been confirmed in two deer in the Kootenay region, south of Cranbrook.
Hunters are encouraged to provide samples for CWD testing after harvesting a deer anywhere in B.C., hunters can submit the head of the animal for testing.

We’re doing all our scoring for the 2023 season on Saturday, January 27th, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, so make sure you come by and get your name on a piece of history! Scoring will be conducted at the Golden Legion (located in the Golden Curling Rink building).
In order to qualify, you must be a GDRGC member in 2023. Make sure you bring your tag along to verify it was taken in BC and during the 2023 season.

All 2024 memberships purchased before January 1st will be entered into the draw. The winner of the draw will be announced at the antler scoring event on Saturday, January 27th.
The Golden District Rod and Gun Club is home to one of the longest ranges in British Columbia. Our 40 hectare recreation shooting range facility hosts turkey shoots, black powder shoots, sporting clays shoots and family fishing days.
